Jo's Holiday Luncheon - Wednesday, November 18th
If you want to attend the Jo Heller Memorial Lunch at Alta Sierra on November 18th, you must sign up at the Grange no later than Wednesday, November 11th. When you sign up, select the entree you prefer. In honor of Jo and her Wednesday club, Jo's daughter, Linda, donated enough money to pay for 90 Unit 461 members. If more than 90 members sign up, there will be a small co-pay for everyone attending. Non-members Unit 461 will be charged $16.50.
Wednesday bridge will be played at the Grange on the 18th and will start 30 minutes earlier, so make sure you're ready to play at 9:00 AM. After the game at the Grange, carpool over to Alta Sierra for the luncheon. If you sign up, but need to cancel, please let one of us know. Also, if you have any questions, call Marge Roe or Helen Henning.

Message from the President
Our sincerest thanks to Zelna Morrow, 2009 Sectional Tournament Chairman, for the countless hours she spent organizing and supervising the various tasks to make the three day event the huge success it was. According to Zelna, our table count was 302.5 tables and that was up 6.5 tables from 2008. Our table count was still down from 2007, but that's an encouraging increase.
Zelna planned every detail beforehand and did not get too frustrated when some problems arose. Additional thanks to the many volunteers who helped on the different committees. I, especially, want to express our gratitude to Carol Towle for making sure that there were enough food preparers. WOW, we had a continuous procession of refreshments for the entire event.
The positive feedback from our out-of-town guests is proof that the reputation we have earned through the years as hosting one of the best sectionals in the district still stands. Many of the players remarked to me how much they look forward to coming here every year! The weather cooperated and the fall colors of the leaves just added to the brightness of the weekend. We shall do it again--mark your calendars--October 21-24, 2010!

Reno North American Bridge Championships (NABCs) - March 11th - 21st 2010
Volunteers are need to assist at the various desks during the Reno NABCs. The district assigned each area within the district a day to serve as hosts for the tournament. Our area has been assigned Friday, March 12th. If you're interested in working on our host day, March 12th, sign up on the volunteer sheet at the Grange. All volunteers will earn script for the time they work, and the script may be used to offset the cost of your entry fee. Hope to see you there.
