Make sure you have a sound bidding foundation to build on!

Mondays: 1/11/10 through 3/01/10 from 9-11 a.m.

Fee: $100.00 (or $15 per individual class)

Bidding Workshops: These workshops are strictly for bidding practice; there is no formal lecture and no play time. They focus on frequently occurring, bread and butter auctions that often cause problems. Each session includes 8-12 hands to bid and discuss. This is an opportunity for intermediate players to fine tune their understanding of basic bidding. Bring your favorite partner, or come alone.

Mondays: 4/12/10 through 5/24/10 from 7-9 p.m.

Fee: $8 per session

Introduction To Declarer Play: An 8 week class that focuses on improving declarer play. Topics include: making a plan, identifying winners and losers, promoting tricks, long suit establishment, the finesse, and managing the trump suit. Each class includes 4 prepared hands to play and discuss.

Tuesdays: 3/09/10 through 4/27/10 from 9-11 a.m.

Fee: $100.00 (or $15 per individual class). $15 for the student text.

Introduction to Defense: An 8 week class for intermediate players who want to defeat their opponents more frequently! Topics include: opening leads, second hand play, when to cover an honor with an honor, third hand play, signaling (attitude, count, and suit preference), and interfering with declarer's plan. Each class includes 4 hands to play and discuss.

Fridays: 1/15/10 through 3/05/10 from 9-11 a.m.

Fee: $100 (or $15 per individual class). $15 for the student text.

Introduction to Two Over One: This class is for advanced-intermediate players. It is an in-depth study of the underlying bidding structure of 2/1. We will examine opener's rebids, responder's rebids and the subsequent auction. This is NOT a convention class. The only conventions that will be discussed are 1NT Forcing (essential to 2/1) and Fourth Suit Forcing.

Fridays: 3/12/10 through 4/30/10 from 9-11 a.m.

Fee: $100.00 (or $15 per individual class)

Modern Bridge Conventions: An 8 week class for intermediate and advanced-intermediate players. Conventions covered: Stayman, Jacoby Transfers, Weak Two Bids, 2C opener, major suit raises (limit raise, Jacoby 2NT, splinter bids), and 1NT Forcing. Make sure you are familiar with the details of these widely used conventions. For example: Do you know when to use Stayman with less than 8 points? Do you use Stayman or transfers when you are 5-4 or 6-4 in the majors? Is a new suit forcing after partner opens a weak two bid? How do you invite game after partner opens a weak two? Are you using splinter bids, an important tool for hand evaluation? Do you know the modern way to respond to a 2C opening bid? How should the auction continue are a Jacoby 2NT response? These points, and many others, will be discussed as we fine tune your understanding of these conventions. Bring your favorite partner or come alone.

Mondays: 10/05/09 through 11/23/09 from 9-11 a.m.

Tuesdays: 1/12/10 through 3/02/10 from 9-11:30 a.m.

Fee: $100 (or $15 per individual class)

Supervised Play: Supervised play provides practice for current and former Easybridge students, or anyone who has taken a beginning bridge class. Each session includes 6-8 hands to play. After the hand is played, there is a discussion of the bidding, the opening lead, and there are tips for declarer and defenders. You can come without a partner.

Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m. (an ongoing year round activity)

Fee: $8 per session

Thinking Bridge: This class is for intermediate and advanced-intermediate players who want to learn what to think about at the bridge table. Each class will include 6-8 hands to play and discuss. There will be pointers on all aspects of the game: bidding, play, and defense.

Mondays: 3/08/10 through 4/26/10 from 9-11 a.m.

Fee: $100.00 (or $15 per individual class)

Easybridge!: The Experiential Learning Approach to Bridge

The Easybridge! (EB) program is based on the premise of learning from playing. A mini-lesson of 15-20 minutes is followed by 2 hours of playing. Experiment, learn from your mistakes and have fun!

There are three levels of EB. EB1 is for absolute beginners. But it is also popular among players who want to refresh their skills or modernize their bidding. EB2 is for intermediate players who are familiar with modern bidding. EB3 is oriented to duplicate bridge.
